Wild animals Ring tail The ring tailed lemurs belong to the so-called 'semi-monkeys'. They are gray from above and lighter from below and have a striking black and white ringed tail. They live in social groups of 5 to 25 animals, where there is a strict order of precedence. The adult women are higher in rank than the males. Lemurs are closely related to the other lemurs in Madagascar. They can climb well, but live more on the ground than the other lemurs.
