Players play the role of a crew of space explorers who are sent through hyperspace to investigate a dangerous sector of the galaxy. The spaceship automatically maps out the sector in ten minutes. The crew's job is to defend the ship until the mission is completed. If they succeed, the ship will bring back valuable data. Otherwise... a new crew must be trained... Space Alert is not a typical board game. Players don't play against each other, but work together to meet the challenges of the game. The level of difficulty is chosen by the players themselves.
